Playing in Granna's creek, Memorial Weekend.
Memorial weekend: This was the weekend after "graduation" ceremonies. Saturday, my mom and I went to the craft fair in Kerrville, during which I was attacked by wind blown decorative tiles while sheltering from a sudden storm under a tent. Then we got completely drenched in the torrential downpour, waded through a foot of water to cross a parking lot and mucked through ankle-deep mud to get to the car! Sunday was a nice, cool day. Then as we drove home Monday, the milk pitcher fell over, spilling a half gallon of milk all over the dog beds, Maya, and the back of the van. When we got home, I discovered that the storm on Saturday had knocked out our power and tripped the garage GFCI, leaving our freshly stocked freezer off for 2.5 days. After trashing about $300 worth of food, maybe more, the satellite would not work, so Will spent the afternoon troubleshooting. Finally, we consulted the online guide, which suggested resetting the receiver. Duh. Problem solved... at 7 p.m. So here I am, thinking we had QUITE the weekend, when I learn at school the next day that Amy's friend Maddie was in a car accident Friday and one of my friend's husband was having emergency bypass surgery that Monday morning! Puts it all in perspective, doesn't it?
